Poem Brut : Phase 3, 2021

An extraordinary third phase of happenings for Poem Brut. Seven events across the UK - London, Kingston, Bristol, Bath et al - with over 70 new performances. Add into this two group exhibitions, a set of new commissions online, new publications including the remarkable Seen as Read anthology from Kingston University press, a series of sharing days, an online forum and workshops, including an especially resonant series with the charity Second Step in Bristol. With readings and performances from Paul Hawkins, James Knight, Vicki Kaye, Susie Campbell, Simon Tyrrell, Peter Jaeger, Dominic Jaeckle, Angie Butler, Aaron Kent, Sarer Scotthorne, Charles Putschkin, Martin Wakefield, SJ Fowler An extraordinary group of poets, writers and artists, many based in the Bristol area region, presented an evening of new experimental literary performance works, made for the night.

with Chris Kerr, Beverley Frydman, Vicki Kaye, Mikael Buck, Lynette Willoughby, Bob Bright, SJ Fowler, Richard Marshall, Kayleigh Cassidy, Simon Tyrrell, Paul Hawkins, Susie Campbell. A preview of the new Seen as Read anthology and new performances and readings, from over a dozen brilliant poets in one of West London’s most remarkable arts centres.

Aug 2nd 2021 : Poem Brut Bath

With Angie Butler, Max Porter, Lucy English, Carrie Etter, James Knight, SJ Fowler and David Spittle. A brilliant evening of new experimental literary performance works, at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution, alongside readings of poetry and prose, celebrating the launch of SJ Fowler’s ‘Bastard Poems’ from Steel Incisors press and the remarkable writing talent of the region of the UK.

June 10th 2021 : Poem Brut in the City of London

With Chris Kerr, Susie Campbell, Dan Power, Robin Boothroyd, Paul Hawkins, Martin Wakefield, Richard Marshall, David Spittle, Julia Rose Lewis, Mischa Foster Poole and SJ Fowler. A unique outdoor event - an extraordinary exploration of innovative potential of what a live poem might be, all while strolling along the historic alleys and avenues of the City of London. This event was the launch of SJ Fowler’s Sticker Poems (Trickhouse Press 2021).
